Dear Valley View Community,

As we gear up for another exciting school year at Valley View Elementary, I want to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those new to our school community.

I'm thrilled to share that in the last academic year, Valley View Elementary saw impressive growth in our 3rd to 5th grade California State (CAASPP) test scores for ELA and Math, based on preliminary data. Our scores rose by 16 points in ELA and 21 points in Math. This remarkable achievement is a testament to our teachers, staff, families, and community working together to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Our dedicated educators and staff have been busy preparing for the upcoming school year, participating in professional development and planning to ensure we meet the needs of all our students. We're excited to welcome our students back on the first day of school!

A few updates and highlights for the upcoming semester include welcoming new staff members, renovations to our Edible Garden, vibrant painted planters across campus, new flooring in the main office, a fresh website and web address (valleyviewes.lausd.org), Grade-Level Student Leadership Teams, new library books, Sphero Robots, the i-Ready assessment and personalized digital learning program, a Running Club, and even the naming of our beloved Panther.

We're looking forward to more exciting experiences and additions throughout the school year. We appreciate your unwavering support and partnership and can't wait to embark on a year filled with growth, joy, and learning together. Let's make this school year truly remarkable and unforgettable.

Warmly and with great gratitude,

Behnaz Valamehr, Principal
